The Mirror UN
| Gamemaster: | communistbob | |
| System: | Nobilis |
Creation is under attack by Excrutions, beings of impossible elegance and absolute nothingness; humanity is under seige by demons, devils, fallen angels, and their own inner darkness given form; the one individual to whom all look for salvation and leadership is named "Entropy," and his hands that drip blood eternally. We are the Nobilis, and we are here to save the world.
This Nobilis game, the second running in the metagamers, shares a universe with the first. This game focuses on the Mirror UN, a mythical version of the mundane agency with the avowed goal of throwing the excrucians back to the lands beyond creation, vanquishing the dark, supressing the damned, and generally making the world a better place ... by hook or by crook.
The game stresses roleplay and indirect solutions. Nobilis is a diceless, mostly social game -- in this vein combat is rare and information is power, sometimes even more than power itself. This game runs in the FLB mondays at 6:00pm, come by and spectate if you like -- you might even get conscripted as an NPC!
Players
- Akmed al-Hussein (chaos_incar)
Akmed is a nondescript man, but fairly attractive -- the sterotypical "tall, dark, and handsome" typically prophesied to naive waifs by charlatans. Akmed al-Hussein is the name currently on his passports. It's an interesting enough token; the second part is enough to elicit a surprise, but no one seriously fears an "Akmed." His charming demeanor and fluency in several languages quickly dispel any notion that he's at all related to extrememists with poor fashion sense, usually with some embarrassment on the part of anyone closed-minded enough to entertain such bigoted views. Perhaps he's a visiting dignitary from a foreign land, a student backpacking across the country, or a doctor conducting humanitarian work. This is as it should be, for he is a high classed assassin --- not the floozies you find at a street corner for a quick fix, but someone you fly across the country to enjoy a bottle of champaign before getting down to business. He has a few stable clients --- not many can afford his services --- and among these he is well known for this discretion and cleanliness. Otherwise, few spend enough time with him to form much of an opinion. - Tyler Rockwell, Power of Rock 'n' Roll (Neon Orange Knight)
Tyler appears as a tall, muscular man in his mid-forties. He has semi-long brown hair and several days' worth of beard growth. - Dr. Cornelius Brown, Power of Paranormality and Forbidden Knowledge (Magickman)
- Jonathan "Doc" Taylor, Power of Atrocity (frobischer)
Doc Taylor is a tall fit man of about thirty years of age, too young to be anything more than a resident doctor. Brown haired, and brown eyed, he is nothing special to look at and doesn't radiate the splendor and majesty of a noble. He is known for always wearing a doctor's coat and for his unabiding love for knowledge. As a new Noble he is adapting slowly to his new station and powers. He also appears to have great animosity for his own estate, a peculiar circumstance to say the least. - Simon Lapiste, Power of Duality and Opposites (Minedelt)
Simon Lapiste is a slightly-larger-than-average-built man in his late twenties with wavy Scandinavian-blonde hair over thick-rimmed glasses. He comes with an optional five-o-clock shadow from his usual lack of everyday discipline. If not wearing the rumpled dress shirt and slacks minimally needed for formal events, Simon has been known to wear Hawaiian shirts, cargo shorts, and sandals, very much looking like a modern scholar on vacation, even in less-than-optimal climates for such outfits. On some days, Simon can come off as quite distracted and distant, avoiding eye contact and generally looking like certain people in his life are consuming him. - Jackson Trent, Power of Blades and Excision (Will)
Jackson is a man in his mid-twenties of medium height and build, with very short, sandy blond hair and light grey eyes. Typically somewhat unassuming while Guised, he takes on a much more regal bearing when his full Spirit is on display, though part of the striking difference may be due to the immense gap between "regular" and "extra-shiny". A man known for intense loyalty to sometimes abstract and distant concepts like "righteousness" and "order", he seems entirely comfortable with pledging his service to a nigh-deity. He typically wears a conservative blue business suit, designer glasses that he no longer needs, and sleek brown leather gloves. - Shreen Barrows, Power of Wind (DerTollUdo)
Shreen is a typically well liked guy in his mid thirties. He's tall, 6'3", but caries himself well, broad shoulders, muscular body, regal posture. What really makes people like him is his wavy sandy-blond hair that goes down to his shoulders, and deep sea-green eyes that always seem full of compassion, and a chest length beard, cut in a loose V shape, that makes him come of as fatherly and comforting. And often times people have commented, positively, on his tireless work ethic that has helped him to scrape out his own major construction company from scratch. He always has time to sit down and talk or listen if anyone needs it. Typically he is seen wearing a colored polo shirt and khaki-colored shorts with brown sandals. - Mick McManus, Power of Manly Fighting Spirit! (jesusofthemonkeys)
Being dead, McManus has no actual body and most of the familia will interact with him while he is control of his Anchor Steven "the Man the Plan" Smith. Steven is 6'2" and large. Being a former student of the "golden age" of 1970's he is quite strong compared to a mortal and large rather than rippling muscle. Since McManus/Smith have been a noble for about 20 minutes before visiting the Armory and then meeting with Joktan, most people will meet him wearing either sweats with Moonpie crumbs on them, or wearing his Mirror UN uniform and looking rather uncomfortable in it. He would much rather be wearing street clothes and when he has some time he'll pick these up.
